Job summary

Gables Search Group is recruiting two Controls Engineers to support a growing manufacturing operation in Columbus, MS. You’ll work directly with production equipment, diagnose issues, and deliver controls improvements that increase uptime and efficiency.

Responsibilities include programming and troubleshooting Siemens PLC and CNC controls, interpreting ladder logic and schematics, and coordinating projects with maintenance, production, and suppliers. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
• Hands-on controls engineering experience with manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal PLC programming.
• Experience with Siemens CNC controls and HMI terminology.

We’re recruiting for two Controls Engineers to support a growing manufacturing operation in Columbus. You’ll work directly with production equipment, solve controls problems, and deliver improvements that increase uptime and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Program and troubleshoot Siemens PLC and CNC controls on automated machining equipment, including Heller CNC machines and Liebherr gantry systems.
• Diagnose electrical and automation issues using ladder logic, function block diagrams, STL, and equipment schematics.
• Implement equipment modifications, corrective actions, and controls improvements.
• Coordinate projects with maintenance, production, engineering, suppliers, and contractors.

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• Hands-on controls engineering experience with industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal PLC programming experience.
• Experience with Siemens CNC controls, including Step-7 Powerline, Solutionline, and HMI Advanced.
• Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and manage changing project priorities.
• Willingness to work the evening shift.

Experience with FANUC robotics, Cognex vision, Profibus, ProfiSafe, ASI-Bus, AutoCAD, or capital projects is helpful. Travel is minimal. Candidates with H-1B or TN status may be considered.
