Job summary

Adalta EC&I in East Central Mississippi is seeking a Controls Engineer to support and improve automated production equipment, troubleshoot controls issues, and deliver automation projects that boost efficiency and reliability.

You’ll work hands-on with PLCs and HMIs, Siemens Step 7, and TIA Portal, collaborating with production, maintenance, and engineering to optimize equipment performance and maintain electrical drawings and controls standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous Controls Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and supporting PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems
• Developing and modifying PLC programs to support production and process improvements
• Working on automation and controls projects from concept through implementation
• Identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing long-term solutions
• Supporting equipment upgrades, commissioning activities, and capital projects
• Partnering with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance
• Maintaining documentation, electrical drawings, and controls standards

We're currently supporting a well-established manufacturing organization in their search for a Controls Engineer to join their engineering team.

This position is heavily focused on supporting and improving automated production equipment, troubleshooting controls issues, and delivering automation projects that improve reliability and performance across the facility.

What You'll Be Doing

• Troubleshooting and supporting PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems
