Job summary
Auria is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer for our Old Fort, NC plant. The role focuses on updating and expanding controls systems, including robotics and PLC/HMI programming, to ensure continuous, safe production.
Qualified candidates will have a mechanical engineering degree and 5–7 years in automotive/manufacturing controls, with OEM experience (Volvo, Mercedes, BMW preferred). Proficiency with AutoCAD and Rockwell/Mitsubishi/Siemens/Omron PLCs is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering
- 5–7 years as a Controls Engineer in automotive/manufacturing
- Experience with automotive OEMs (Volvo, Mercedes, BMW preferred)
- Experience in Customer Portals
Responsibilities
- Update and improve existing controls systems including robotic programs and ladder logic
- Design and develop new machine controls for robotics, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vision systems
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance on control mods to keep production running
- Integrate barcode scanners/cameras into PLC controls and plant networking
- Provide electrical support for injection molding presses and robotics
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities
- Stay current with new devices and controls technologies
