Job summary

Ultium Cells, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer for Assembly to join a highly automated lithium-ion cell manufacturing line. You will troubleshoot equipment, improve processes, and support production with PLC programming and motion control for servo motors and robots.

The role involves interaction with internal customers and external vendors, on-call support, and driving high yield in a modern plant. A related degree plus 0–3 years experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Electrical preferred or Automation (or related)
• 0 to 3 years industrial controls experience in manufacturing/automotive environment preferred
• Exposure to controls and electrical systems design, automation, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing equipment
• Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills
• Exposure or education in Battery systems or processes a plus
• Bilingual Korean/English preferred
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Promote workplace safety

Responsibilities

• The Control Engineering is a key partner in organization responsible for the Assembly process technology.
• Program the automation and controls systems of various manufacturers (Italy, Japan, Korea)
• Create, monitor, and modify logic for program design, simulation and testing, start-up, and troubleshooting
• Manipulate these items using Siemens PLC programming
• Motion control with servo motor and robot
• Integrate and implement systems such as Bar Code & RFID Reading, Robot, Ultrasonic Welding, Vision, Weigh Scale, Gas Sampling, etc.
• Machine Cleaning responsibilities
• Additional duties as assigned
