Job summary

Yanfeng International Automotive Technology Co. Ltd. in Louisville, KY seeks an experienced electronic/controls engineer to diagnose, modify, and support electrical systems across production equipment.

You will design specifications, implement upgrades, and train maintenance staff in PLCs, robotics, and HMI interfaces. The role requires 3–5 years in electronics and automotive, travel to customer sites, and deep knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and MES workflows.

Qualifications

• 3-5 minimum years in electronic engineering or similar.
• 3-5 years in the automotive industry.
• Travel to customer sites, including industrial plants, as needed.
• Special knowledge of electronic design and interface with PLC systems.
• Experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems related to controls.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical malfunctions on all equipment.
• Assist maintenance with installing new electronic/electrical control equipment and make it operational.
• Develop electrical control system specifications and equipment modifications.
• Provide technical support to maintenance; plan and record periodic electrical analysis on production equipment.
• Recommend modifications or replacements to meet operating standards.
• Provide training on machine controls and motor controllers.
• Research and implement cost-effective upgrades to equipment and facilities.
• Research and implement cost-effective replacement of electrical control parts.
• Maintain updated electrical drawings and schematics; keep backups for machine programs.
• Suggest electrical spare parts inventory to maximize machine utilization.
• Develop programming and support for PLCs, robots and Panel Views to optimize quality and production.
• Provide technical support to other facilities when needed; maintain corporate programming standards.

Job Description

• Diagnose and resolve causes of electrical and mechanical malfunctions on all equipment.
• Assist the maintenance department in installing newelectronic/electrical control equipment and making it operational.
• Develop engineering specifications for electrical controlsystems and equipment modifications.
• Provide technical support to the maintenance department when required;Plan, direct and record periodic electrical analysis on the production equipment.

• Provide training for the maintenance department on the operation and diagnostics of the machine controls andmotor controllers.
• Research and implement costeffective upgrades to the equipment and facilities.

• Keep updated electrical drawings and schematics on all production and plant equipment.Maintain master backups for all machine programs.
• Recommend the electrical spare parts inventory for allnew and existing production equipment to insure maximum machine utilization.
• Develop programming and provide support for Programmable Logic Controllers, Robots and Panel Views to maximize both quality and production.

• 3-5 Minimum Years of Experienceas an electronic engineer, electrician or similar.
• 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience withinthe automotive industry.
• Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
• Special knowledge of electronic design systems.
• Ability to program and interface Allen Bradley drives and controls systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems as it relates to controls of such systems.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level,Skills, Knowledge)

• Advanced level Allen Bradley PLC programming.
• Ability to program Siemens PLC’s.
• Some knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as it relates to controls of such systems.
• Advanced level in HMI interfaces and layouts for best operator experience.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate, program, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial vision sensors and machine vision systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience implementing and supporting Industry 4.0 technologies, including connected devices, data acquisition systems, automation, and real-time manufacturing analytics.
• Workingknowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including system integration, production data collection, traceability, quality management, and operational reporting.
• Experience leveraging manufacturing data to drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
