Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation in the United States seeks a Controls Engineer III to design and lead control-system projects for industrial material handling. You will develop specifications, schematics, PLC logic, and set up automated equipment sequences, working with an integrated project team.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering (or related) with 6+ years of experience, proficiency in HMI/SCADA, Allen‑Bradley and Schneider PLCs, AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen‑Bradley controls/controllers and Schneider PLCs.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical or other related electrical CAD systems such as E‑Plan.
  • Ability to lead a team and accomplish project goals effectively.
  • Ability to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team‑oriented and collaborative.
  • Creative‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Self‑motivated.
  • Ability to work non‑traditional hours.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the concepting and design of products that add value and are a solution to customers and market needs.
  • Collaborate with others on the development team to develop products.
  • Ensure products developed fit with current and future manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure products developed meet competitive and market demands for performance and cost.
  • Specify and develop a sequence of operations of automated equipment.
  • Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
  • Develop programmable logical control (PLC) programs.
  • Maintain product development schedules and cost estimates.
  • Follow established engineering standards and best practices including software revision control.
  • Perform prototype development and testing.
  • Perform on‑site beta testing to ensure safety, reliability, and other performance metrics are met.
  • Investigate product issues in the field and determine root cause.
  • Travel domestically up to 40% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States

Job Summary

The Controls Engineer III designs control systems for industrial material handling solutions. Responsibilities include development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, and solutions that deliver exceptional customer value. Works closely with the overall project team to design systems meeting project requirements, using creativity and innovation to tailor the standard product offering to meet customer needs. Leads large projects and directs the work of assigned team members, performing duties with minimal direction.
