Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation seeks a Controls Engineer III to design control systems for industrial material handling solutions, engineer electrical layouts, and develop PLC logic for high-value projects.

You will lead large projects, coordinate with the project team, and tailor standard offerings to customer needs, with occasional site beta testing and field issue investigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers and Schneider PLCs.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan.
• Ability to lead a team and meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead in concepting and design of products that add value and meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with the development team to create new products.
• Ensure products fit with manufacturing operations and meet market demands.
• Develop sequences of operations for automated equipment.
• Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
• Develop PLC programs.
• Maintain schedules and cost estimates for product development.
• Follow engineering standards and revision control.
• Perform prototype development and testing.
• Conduct on-site beta testing for safety and performance.
• Investigate field issues to determine root cause.

Job Summary

The Controls Engineer IIIdesigns control systems for industrial material handling solutions.Includes development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, and solutions that deliver exceptional customer value. Works closely with the overall project team to design systemsmeetingthe project requirements. Uses creativity and innovation to tailor the standard product offering to meet customer needs.Leads large projects and directs the work of assigned team members. Performs duties with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the concepting and design of products that add value and are a solution to customers and market needs
• Lead and collaborate with others on the development team to develop products
• Ensure products developed fit with current and future manufacturing operations
• Ensure products developed meet competitive and market demands for performance and cost
• Specify and develop a sequence of operations of automated equipment
• Prepares schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication
• Develop Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs
• Maintain product develop schedules and cost estimates
• Follow established engineering standards and best practices including software revision control
• Perform prototype development and testing
• Perform on site beta testing to ensure safety, reliability, and other performance metrics are met
• Investigate product issues in the field and determine root cause
• Domestic travel up to 40% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers and Schneider PLCs
• In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers, and Schneider PLCs
• Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical or other related electrical CAD systems such as E-Plan
• Ability to lead a team and accomplish project goals effectively
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative

• Ability to learn new technologies
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
