Job summary

State Group Automation in Michigan seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to design, integrate, and commission automated systems for automotive and industrial clients. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, and project teams to deliver robust electrical and software control solutions.

The role requires deep PLC and HMI knowledge, extensive commissioning experience, and willingness to travel across North America for site work and startups.

Qualifications

• 25 years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or programming field.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
• Willingness to travel to North America.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with safety standards.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support electrical and software design as needed.
• Start up, debug and troubleshoot PLC controls at the Build Shop and customer sites.
• Improve throughput and optimize cycle times.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Promote and comply with all safety standards

• Support electrical and software design as needed
• Optimize cycle times and improve throughput
• Maintain customer relationships
• Assist with electrical and software design when required
• Start up debug and troubleshooting of PLC Controls automation equipment at the Build Shop and customers site
• Throughput enhancement at customers site

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

• 25 years of experience as a Controls Engineer
• Bachelors Degree in a related engineering or programming field
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
• Preferred knowledge of robotic systems
• Experience with Automotive Supply Chain or Manufacturing industries
• Extensive commissioning experience
• Preferred hardware and software design capabilities
• Ability to travel to customer sites across North America
• Valid passport and drivers license
• Eligibility for a TN Visa
