Job summary

State Group Automation in Troy, MI, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, commission, and support automated systems for automotive, manufacturing, and supply chain projects. You will work with customers, contractors, and project teams to ensure safe, reliable operations and optimized throughput.

Requirements include 2+ years as a Controls Engineer, a Bachelor's in a related field, strong PLC and HMI knowledge, and the ability to travel across North America with a valid passport.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Promote and comply with all safety standards.

  • Optimize cycle times and improve throughput.
  • Maintain customer relationships.
  • Assist with electrical and software design when required.
  • Start-up, debug and troubleshooting of PLC Controls automation equipment at the Build Shop and customer's site.
  • Throughput enhancement at the customer's site.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

  • 2+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering or programming field required.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
  • Preferred knowledge of robotic systems.
  • Experience with Automotive, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing industries.
  • Extensive commissioning experience.
  • Preferred hardware and software design capabilities.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites across North America.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US or qualify for a TN visa. We are unable to provide sponsorship outside the TN process.
