Description
Position Summary: The Controls Engineer contributes technical expertise in the development of new mobile control systems. This person is responsible for supporting the Electronics (“E”) product line and E business operation, providing development work and software code for E product line projects.
Areas Of Accountability
- Develops customer-specific mobile electronic control systems within required timeframes, including defining and specifying electronic components per customer requirements, creating schematics and layout drawings, developing related software code, and preparing documentation.
- Provides technical expertise and sales support for E products, confers with customers and JEM associates to confirm functionality, and resolves design and documentation issues.
- Attends supplier training, maintains knowledge of E products, and performs assembly of prototypes as needed.
- Confirms specifications, standards, and changes, meets with customers independently, and supports engineering in relation to E systems.
- Assists in customer E system commissioning, responds to inquiries, and demonstrates leadership and sound judgment in representing JEM Technical.
- Ensures smooth business operations through collaboration, focuses on continuous improvement, and complies with all policies and procedures including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR.
- Supports JEM’s vision, maintains attendance, and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- AAS Degree in mechatronics, fluid power, or related discipline required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
- 1-3 years of industrial/mobile control system experience required.
- Knowledge of mobile and industrial electronics, fluid power, hydraulic circuits, and mobile equipment preferred.
- PLC/HMI software development skills required; CODESYS expertise preferred.
- C++ and QT experience desired.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills required.
- Advanced computer skills required.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to drive independently, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel occasionally.
