Job summary

MS Technology, Inc. seeks an experienced Controls Engineer with an active Q Clearance for 100% onsite work in Oak Ridge, TN.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving industrial equipment and control system issues, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motor controls. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or similar PLC platforms, reads electrical drawings, and communicates effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Active Q clearance or higher required.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of industrial controls.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley or similar platforms is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HMIs, instrumentation, sensors, motor controls, and industrial communications.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose control system and manufacturing equipment issues onsite.
• Provide hands-on technical support to identify and resolve equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, control panels, sensors, instrumentation, motor controls, and related equipment.
• Review and modify PLC programming and control logic as needed.
• Support equipment startup, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Review electrical drawings and schematics; coordinate with engineering and operations.
• Document system modifications and technical resolutions.

Job description

MS Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with an active Q or TS Clearance to provide onsite, hands-on support for manufacturing equipment in Oak Ridge, TN. This position will focus on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving industrial equipment and control system issues, including PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, sensors, motor controls, and related systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on industrial controls experience, including experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation or similar PLC platforms.

100% Onsite in Oak Ridge, TN

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose control system and manufacturing equipment issues.
• Provide hands-on technical support to identify and resolve equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, control panels, sensors, instrumentation, motor controls, and related equipment.
• Review and modify PLC programming and control logic as needed.
• Support equipment startup, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Review electrical and controls drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and operations personnel to resolve equipment issues.
• Document system modifications and technical resolutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active Q Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial controls and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley or similar platforms is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HMIs, instrumentation, sensors, motor controls, and industrial communications.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
