Job summary

Constellation Search Group is seeking a Controls Engineer for a full-time, direct-hire role in New Bern, NC. You will plan, design, and execute electrical engineering and controls work for manufacturing equipment, including custom integration and machine safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in controls design, panel construction, and PLC programming in a high volume assembly environment.
  • Experience with automated and semi-automated equipment, including robotics and motion control.
  • Knowledge of machine safety and wiring standards, including relevant code requirements.
  • Understanding of network architecture and infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate troubleshooting and repair of equipment with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Ensure machine safety through code compliance, design updates, and equipment modification.

  • Support new product development by collaborating with engineering and project teams.
  • Offer guidance for engineering and manufacturing initiatives, focusing on automation technology.
  • Maintain shop floor data systems in collaboration with engineering groups and IT.
  • Identify and develop new hardware, software, and technology applications.
  • Collaborate with integrators and machine builders for automation equipment development.
  • Execute improvement opportunities and strategic projects for the facility.

Job description

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Controls Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. The role includes advanced troubleshooting, ensuring machine safety, and supporting new product development.

Responsibilities
