Overview

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their consumer-packaged goods team. The Controls Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes automation and control systems, with a focus on AB CompactLogix and ControlLogix platforms. This role includes leading projects, troubleshooting systems, and supporting operations during downtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects from concept to completion.
• Design and implement control systems using AB platforms.
• Provide technical guidance on automation and integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align automation with business goals.
• Maintain documentation for control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Automation, etc.) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in controls/automation, especially with AB CompactLogix and ControlLogix.
• Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial protocols.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with AC/DC motors, VFDs, MCCs, and control circuits.
