Position Summary
The Process/Controls Engineer provides controls and electrical engineering support to the assigned UAP cell and assists maintenance in supporting the plant through troubleshooting and problem solving methodologies to eliminate downtime and decrease quality defects to the customer. The Process/Control Engineer will also write, create, and modify programs to meet the plant objectives while maintaining warranty and OEM liabilities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Engineering Change Management process
- Responsible for process design and implementation
- Support continuous improvement
- Support production through problem solving and participation in the QRCI process
- Assist production with troubleshooting and programming
- Behave in accordance with Faurecia’s code of ethics and code of management
Automation/Controls Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and programming PLCs – preferably Siemens
- Troubleshooting and programming vision inspection systems
- Robotics – linear and articulating
- Lean – assembly line balancing, visual factory, Kanban
Process Design
- Define cycle time in line with takt time and standard operations
- Integrate ergonomics principles in line design
- Release manufacturing process documents
- Issue process flowcharts
- Conduct process FMEA
- Support updating plant layout
- Follow‑up prototype builds
- Get support from relevant technology experts or support functions
Process Implementation
- Ensure equipment delivery and installation in the plant for continuous improvement
- Carry out process activity analysis
- Implement improvement action plans
Participate in equipment reception process
Capitalize on lessons learned and provide best practices
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong communication skills – ability to interface with other functions and work with employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi‑task
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Must be very knowledgeable in Process and Manufacturing methods
Education & Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing, including one position in Manufacturing Engineering
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a technical discipline
- Trained in Faurecia Excellence System
- Auto CAD, Electrical and mechanical, multiple controls logic languages, software programming, robot programming
- Proficient level of English
