Webasto Americas is seeking a controls engineer in Lexington, KY, to develop and modify PLC programs for automated manufacturing equipment and to troubleshoot and optimize PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion controls. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in electrical/controls/automation fields, 3+ years in manufacturing controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
  • Strong PLC programming experience using ladder logic and structured text, including development of new control systems.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms, industrial networking, and automation systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with robotics, machine vision, motion control, and related automation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify PLC programs for automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and quality systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion controls, and safety systems to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Integrate sensors, machine vision, motion systems, and industrial networks into production equipment.
  • Create and maintain controls documentation, electrical schematics, and automation standards.
  • Support equipment launches, capital projects, supplier activities, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
