Job summary

Shuttleworth LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer in Huntington, IN to design and redesign electrical control systems for conveyors and machinery from conception to production.

You will design, test, and optimize systems, create hardware requirements and schematics in AutoCAD Electrical, and develop PLC/HMI software while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience or training.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products and AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

  • Design and test electrical control systems to meet requirements.
  • Develop systems for Shuttleworth Slip‑Torque conveyors and machinery.
  • Create hardware requirements and panel schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Maintain bills of materials for systems.
  • Develop and debug PLC, servo, and HMI software.
  • Participate in design, build, test, and startup phases.
  • Travel 10‑30% to customer sites for installation support.
  • Collaborate with controls, mechanical, service, and other departments.
  • Review customer specs and drawings and assist with quotes.
  • Create and update project documentation throughout lifecycle.

Job description

Join ProMach as a Controls Engineer at the Shuttleworth team in Huntington, IN. The role involves designing and redesigning electrical control systems for conveyor, machinery, and custom devices, from inception through production.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and test electrical control systems to meet electrical/software requirements.
  • Create systems around Shuttleworth Slip‑Torque® conveyors, machinery, custom devices, and purchased equipment.
  • Develop hardware requirements, system and panel schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Maintain bills of materials for systems.
  • Develop and debug PLC, servo, and HMI software programs.
  • Participate in all project phases: design, build, test, customer acceptance, installation, and start‑up.
  • Travel 10‑30% to customer sites for installation support and service.
  • Collaborate with Controls, mechanical engineering, service, and other departments.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications and drawings.
  • Assist sales and application engineering in preparing customer quotes.
  • Create and update documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or A.A.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and reprioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products: Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View Machine Edition.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Knowledge of ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix PLCs, PanelView Plus, PowerFlex AC Drives, Kinetix Servo Drives, EtherNet/IP, IO‑Link, discrete I/O, and related HMI/software.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols and sensors/actuators is a plus.
