Adecco in Gaston, SC is seeking a Controls/DCS Engineer reporting to the Site Electrical Engineer. You will support manufacturing automation using Emerson DeltaV DCS and Allen-Bradley PLCs, including programming, graphics, and hardware aspects.

Qualifications

• Experience with DeltaV DCS and AB PLCs for process automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault resolution skills.
• Ability to write control narratives and procedures.
• Experience with commissioning and startup of control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide automation support for manufacturing systems using DeltaV DCS and AB PLCs.
• Assess new software requirements and propose improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues and modify applications to meet user needs.
• Manage projects from scope to evaluation with stakeholders.
• Develop control narratives and user/operations documentation.
• Train users on new and existing programs.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations on commissioning and startup.
• Maintain and modify legacy control systems.
• Develop interfaces between equipment and control systems.
• Develop and apply DCS/PLC programming and HMI programming.

Job description

The Controls/DCS Engineer will be reportable to the Site Electrical Engineer and have responsibilities for the following tasks:

• Automation Support for Manufacturing Systems using Emerson DeltaV DCS Systems and Allen?Bradley PLCs including programming, graphics development, and system hardware support
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software requirements for projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements and business needs
• Manage projects - defining scope, stakeholder analysis, objectives, timeline, testing phase, implementation and evaluation.
• Write control narratives, technical procedures, and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, Troubleshooting procedures, etc.
• Train users on new and existing programs
• Work collaboratively with Maintenance and Operations with commissioning, functional checkout and startup of control equipment and the process that it is on.
• Supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying existing and legacy control systems
• Develop and apply communication interfaces between equipment and control systems using various protocols.
• Develop and apply DCS/PLC programming
• Develop and apply HMI programming
• All other duties as assigned

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
