Job summary

KYOCERA AVX Greenville LLC in Greenville, SC seeks a controls engineer to design, program, and commission PLC and industrial control systems. You will work with Allen Bradley and Omron, develop HMI interfaces, and support machinery upgrades and robot and vision integrations.

The role requires a BS in Controls Engineering with 5+ years of experience, strong C/C++ and C# skills, and hands-on electrical/mechanical troubleshooting. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, BS degree in Controls Engineering preferred, with +5 years of applicable experience.
• Must be able to design, program, troubleshoot, test and start-up both PLC and Industrial Control systems (Allen Bradley, Omron).
• Good working knowledge in C/C++, C# programming.
• Must have excellent working knowledge and troubleshooting of PLC's and industrial controls and pneumatic controls. Good working knowledge of HMI software (Factory Talk Studio).
• Must have some experience with FANUC robot systems
• Prefer experience with machine Vision Systems Must have experience in Safety related control systems (ISO 13849).
• Must be able to design and specify equipment for machine upgrade.
• Must be able to create process manuals, draw up schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical assembly and troubleshooting Must have strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point and Excel), AutoCAD, and related software.
• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore qualify as a "US Person" as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 is required.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is based in Greenville, SC and will be responsible for the design, installation, and startup of process equipment and components. Candidates must have extensive process controls experience with demonstrated project management skills.

This position could require some domestic and international travel working on projects relating to the development, testing and evaluation of Industrial equipment for production facilities.
