North Coast Container: Who We Are

North Coast Container (NCC) is the leading independent manufacturer of steel drums in North America because of our unwavering customer focus.

Are you excited about this Controls Engineer job?

As a Controls Engineer at North Coast Container, you'll develop, install, commission and improve our plant automation systems. That includes PLC programs, HMI applications, safety systems and MES data collection. You'll write, test and document maintainable, reusable ladder logic, with a focus on Allen-Bradley platforms, and design HMI screens that are easy to use for complex machinery. When issues come up, you'll provide hands-on controls, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to restore production safely and keep downtime to a minimum.

You'll also design and specify control system architecture, including panels, instrumentation, networks and communication protocols. Panels will be built to NFPA 79, NEC and UL 508A requirements. You'll select and size components, recommend spare parts, and create and maintain schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation. Before installation, you'll review designs with internal teams and outside partners. You'll manage capital and improvement projects to scope, schedule, quality and budget, and you'll monitor machine data and alarms to drive reliability. Occasional travel to other NCC locations and occasional off-shift, on-call support may be required.
