Job description

Coilcraft, Inc., a well‑established global organization founded in 1945, specializes in the production of magnetic components, including high‑performance RF chip inductors, power magnetics, and filters. Our headquarters are located in Cary, Illinois. We are currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our custom machine design and build department.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize Programmable Logical Controls (PLCs) to enhance machine efficiency by reducing cycle times, increasing uptime, and minimizing operator intervention.
  • Design control systems for high-performance automated machinery, which involves researching and selecting new components, creating panel layouts and schematics, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with various systems, including PLCs, servo systems, stepper systems, Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMIs), power supplies, motion controllers, and communication loops.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electronics.
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in programming PLCs.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office for documentation.
  • CAD experience for schematic documentation.
  • Experience with vision systems is a valuable asset.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
