Job summary

Autoneum is a global leader in acoustic and thermal management for light and commercial vehicles, seeking an electrical controls engineer to support production. You will own control-system projects, modify electrical drawings, and program PLCs and HMIs to ensure reliable plant operation.

The role requires a 4-year technical degree and 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with hands-on work on Allen-Bradley hardware and ABB servo drives. On-site position in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelors-level technical degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in electrical and controls engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience in control system design and creating electrical drawings.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI hardware and programming tools.
• Experience with ABB and Allen-Bradley servo drives and motion control.

Responsibilities

• Ensure plant Control Systems function to support production needs.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from initiation to completion.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement of existing control systems.
• Create/modify electrical drawings documenting control wiring and configurations.
• Program, document and maintain PLC controllers and Operator Interfaces (Allen-Bradley, C-more).
• Manage plant electrical power distribution (12,470VAC / 480VAC / 240VAC).
• Purchase parts to support projects and equipment breakdowns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensures plant Control Systems function as required to support production needs.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and drive projects from initiation to completion.
• Take initiative to identify & drive continuous improvement of existing control systems.
• Responsible for creating / modifying electrical drawings to document control system wiring & configuration.
• Responsible for programming, documentation and maintenance of PLC controllers (primarily Allen-Bradley) and Operator Interfaces (primarily Allen-Bradley & C-more).
• Responsible for plant electrical power distribution (12,470VAC / 480VAC / 240VAC).
• Responsible for purchasing parts in support of projects and equipment breakdowns
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• 4-year technical degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
• 2-5 years electrical and controls engineering background in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with control system design and creating electrical drawings
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC & HMI Hardware & Programming Software
• Experience with Variable Speed Drives (primarily ABB and Allen-Bradley)
• Experience with Servo Drives (primarily Allen-Bradley)
• Demonstrated ability in technical problem solving related to manufacturing control systems
