Job summary

Accuride Corporation is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineer to design, program and maintain PLC-based control systems for advanced manufacturing. You will integrate sensors, actuators and other devices, document processes and support continuous improvement across production lines.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing, familiarity with Allen‑Bradley/Siemens platforms, and strong knowledge of electrical schematics, P&IDs and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in manufacturing (prior work in a unionized environment desired).
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages, prior experience with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and engineering design applications.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including environmental, safety & health compliance regulations.
  • Proven Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma skills a definite plus.
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.

  • Interpret equipment specifications and develop appropriate operational practices.
  • Maintain documentation including electrical schematics, control logic and system configurations.
  • Analyze new product designs for manufacturing feasibility and process definition and provide technical assistance in the development of new manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, codes and regulations.

Job description

Basic Purpose This position is responsible for providing comprehensive engineering direction and support to achieve current and future strategic manufacturing capability objectives. This position will design, develop and maintain control systems for industrial automation, including programming PLCs, troubleshooting control systems and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to incorporate new manufacturing equipment, processes and technology, and drive the continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes.
