Job summary

Amazon's OMHS team seeks a Senior Controls Software Engineer to help build a standardized software-defined conveyance platform. You will develop scalable machine control software using CODESYS V3, design reusable automation libraries, integrate EtherCAT-connected hardware, and create configuration-driven applications deployed across complex material handling systems.

The role requires 5+ years in automation, controls, or machine software engineering, with strong expertise in structured text

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with CODESYS V3 or Beckhoff TwinCAT development.
• Proficient in IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming.
• Experience with state-machine driven controls development.
• Strong skills in Function Block and object-oriented PLC programming.
• Experience integrating industrial hardware in automated systems.
• 5+ years in automation, controls, or machine software engineering.

You will develop scalable machine control software using CODESYS V3, design reusable automation libraries, integrate EtherCAT-connected hardware, and create configuration-driven applications deployed across complex material handling systems.

Must Have:

• CODESYS V3 or Beckhoff TwinCAT development experience
• IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming
• State-machine driven controls development
• Function Block and object-oriented PLC programming
• Industrial hardware integration experience
• 5+ years in automation, controls, or machine software engineering

Nice to Have:

• Material handling, conveyor, sortation, or packaging automation experience
• IO-Link and EtherCAT networking
• Electrical schematic interpretation
• Experience with commissioning and deployment activities
