Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on embedded software.
• 1+ years of experience with embedded Linux-based controls PLC firmware development.
• Knowledge of basic programming languages (PLC, Structured Text, C/C++, Javascript, HTML, Python, Bash Shell).
• HVAC knowledge is highly desired.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and support thermal unit control firmware involving PID loops and other device interactions and control based on defined requirements and specifications.
• Follow full lifecycle application development practices including design, programming with commentary, debugging, peer review, unit testing, performance tuning, integration.
• Work with project management and scrum master to develop test plans, execution backlogs, and provide accurate time estimates to complete tasks.
• Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems.
• Product testing, customer witness testing, and field startup support.
• Technical writing including documentation, user guides, and service guides.
• Hardware development support.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an embedded Controls Engineer (Linux) who will support our thermal controls applications. This candidate will have a deep knowledge of embedded Linux application development and maintenance. HVAC specific knowledge is highly desired. This position plays a critical role in the global controls organization, enabling teams to deliver high-quality controls applications for all thermal product lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Controls: Design, maintain, and support thermal unit control firmware involving PID loops and other device interactions and control based on defined requirements and specifications.

Follow full lifecycle application development practices including design, programming with commentary, debugging, peer review, unit testing, performance tuning, integration.

Work with project management and scrum master to develop test plans, execution backlogs, and provide accurate time estimates to complete your tasks.

Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems.

Product testing, customer witness testing, and field startup support.

Technical writing including documentation, user guides, and service guides.

Hardware development support.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on embedded software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
• 1+ years of experience with embedded Linux-based controls PLC firmware development
• Knowledge of basic programming languages (PLC, Structured Text, C/C++, Javascript, HTML, Python, Bash Shell)
• HVAC knowledge is highly desired
• Fluency in English required
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
