Responsabilités

• Supervise team of Controls Commissioning Engineers, including scheduling and performance reviews.
• Lead design, development, and commissioning of control systems with PLCs and HMIs.
• Write and debug PLC code and HMI applications.
• Integrate control systems with sensors, actuators, and networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
• Perform in-house emulation testing and onsite commissioning support.
• Provide maintenance, upgrades, and documentation of commissioning activities.
• Travel to projects domestically and internationally.

Description

The Controls Commissioning Team Lead works with a team of Controls Commissioning engineers to design and integrate controls systems for industrial material-handling solutions and production lines. The Controls Commissioning Team Lead supervises a team of engineers who travel regularly to job sites (customer facilities) to support the onsite commissioning of TGW’s material-handling solutions. This position works closely with the other Controls Commissioning Team Leads and reports to the Manager of Controls Commissioning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guides team of Controls Commissioning Engineers and performs supervisory tasks including scheduling, review and approval of timecards, time-off requests, expense reports, and performance management activities (with support of manager).
• Leads the design, development, and commissioning of control systems using PLCs and HMIs to meet project requirements.
• Writes and debugs PLC code and HMI applications to ensure proper functioning of control systems.
• Integrates control systems with other components such as sensors, actuators, and communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).
• Conducts in-house emulation testing to verify system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise prior to going onsite for commissioning.
• Provides support for installed systems, performing preventative maintenance and implementing system upgrades as required.
• Creates and maintains documentation of controls commissioning activities.
• Travels to projects both domestically and internationally.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Five (5) or more years of hands-on Controls Engineering experience, preferably in material-handling, industrial, or warehouse environment.

Travel: Up to 50% travel, domestically and internationally

Skills & Abilities

• Robust knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
• Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read edrawings and AutoCAD drawings.
• Prior experience in formal or informal leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience working on full design-to-production project lifecycles.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
• Knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and C++ or other programming language a bonus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
• Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols
• Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue.

• Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
