Job summary

Corning is hiring a Controls & Manufacturing Technician to provide hands-on technical support across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems on the manufacturing floor, diagnosing issues and driving reliability improvements.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls Technology and 2+ years in manufacturing with troubleshooting, plus experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and Servo Drives. Rotating 12-hour shifts or weekday schedule based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley/Rockwell), HMIs, sensors, motors and actuators.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA standards and LOTO procedures.
• Knowledge of VFDs and Servo Drives.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for electrical and controls troubleshooting on production equipment; diagnose and resolve issues using data‑driven approaches.
• Provide advanced support for plant control systems including PLCs, HMIs, and automation equipment.
• Support and execute controls and electrical scope for improvements and capital projects; assist in transferring new technologies to production.
• Support preventive maintenance and reliability initiatives; analyze process data to identify trends.
