Job summary

The LEGO Group in Richmond, VA seeks a Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing systems, troubleshoot controls issues, and drive performance improvements. You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and OT teams to resolve downtime, validate machine sequences, and implement corrective actions across PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.

Qualified candidates bring 3+ years in industrial automation, ability to read schematics, and experience with Rockwell Automation

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
Experience troubleshooting PLC, HMI, robotics, and automation systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and validate operation of automated manufacturing systems.
Investigate automation-related production issues and abnormal equipment behavior.
Validate machine sequences and verify systems operate as intended.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and OT teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, sensors, and networks.
Support equipment startup, recovery, and validation after maintenance or system changes.
Verify interaction between machines, operators, and automation systems.
Assist with testing, commissioning, and system upgrades.
Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting activities and changes.
Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and investigations involving automation.
