Job summary

Fives Louisville seeks a seasoned Controls Applications Engineer to own electrical and controls architecture, price solutions, and document basis for review. You will design panels, I/O, network and safety, collaborating with Application and Solutions Engineers to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing complete electrical estimates, developing BOMs, evaluating vendor pricing, and turning the bid into a deliverable handoff with clear rationale and traceability for execution

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–8 years in electrical design, controls engineering or electrical estimating for industrial systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of an electrical estimate including panels, devices and installation labor.
• Working knowledge of PLC and controls architecture, I/O counts, network topology and machine safety.

Responsibilities

• Solution development: Decide how Fives equipment answers the requirement, size it to hit throughput and operating hours at a winning price.
• Estimating & cost: Build the complete electrical estimate for panels, devices and installation labor; develop the BOM.
• Customer & supply: Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing; recommend selections.
• Execution & turnover: Hand off a package with clear reasoning and assumptions, not just drawings.
