Job summary

Freudenberg Group in Durham, NC, is hiring a Controls and Electrical Systems Technician to support industrial electrical maintenance across extrusion and web handling processes. The role emphasizes PLC, HMI, and VFD troubleshooting, with responsibilities including on-site support and equipment certifications to keep 24/7 operations running smoothly.

You will collaborate with maintenance teams, apply electrical knowledge, and contribute to safe, reliable plant performance.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of industrial electrical maintenance or technical support experience; extrusion, plastics, web handling, or winding experience preferred.
• Associate degree in Industrial Systems, Electrical/Electronics Technology, or related field preferred; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
• CCST Level I certification, or willingness and ability to obtain certification with company support, preferred.
• Strong PLC, HMI, and VFD experience, including PLC programming and troubleshooting; GE/Emerson and Siemens platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks and electrical troubleshooting, including Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O, Serial, and Ethernet systems.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with flexibility to support 24/7 operations, overtime requirements, and obtain required equipment certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems for extrusion and related processes.
• Support 24/7 operations and overtime as needed to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining required equipment certifications.
