Job summary

Brady Services is seeking a Controls Account Manager to design, estimate, and sell advanced building automation systems across central and eastern North Carolina. The role emphasizes developing owner sales plans, building long-term client relationships, and delivering quotes and bids for capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of sales experience, or equivalent
  • Experience in controls plan and specification projects and direct negotiated sales
  • Familiarity with Tridium, BACnet, Lon, Trane and other major control vendors; plus as a controls technician/engineer/project manager

Are you a Controls Account Manager searching for new experiences? Responsibilities
  • Designing, estimating and selling complex building automation systems as well as smaller service-based sales, including analytics connections and reporting services.
  • Consolidate and reference information by collecting, organizing and assembling data for reports, presentations, and special projects.
  • Develop owner sales plans and generate successful sales with core customers.
  • Respond to customers by identifying needs, generating quotes and closing orders.
  • Provide project take‑off, estimation and proposal development as needed.
  • Visit engineer/architect offices to educate and influence the indirect market, building direct client relationships and supporting engineering services for capital projects.
  • Assist New System Sales with custom and standardized delivery of plans and specifications for qualified opportunities.
  • Deliver project bids directly to contractors and to New System Sales, strategizing prior to and during the bid process.
  • Provide needed information to other departments to ensure jobs are completed on time.
  • Gather customer feedback and share information with management.
  • Work closely as a team member with other parts of the business.
  • May require some travel with occasional overnight stays.

  • Immediately address any customer’s concern and request involvement of other personnel as required.
Safety
  • Follow all company safety programs and report any non‑compliance to the Team Leader.
  • Notify Manager or Safety Director of any unsafe conditions.
Qualifications

To perform this job, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in controls plan and specification projects, direct negotiated sales, system integration, and familiarity with Tridium, BacNet, Lon, Trane, and other major control vendors is required. Experience with Access Controls, Security & CCTV, or as a controls technician, engineer, or project manager is a plus.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years sales experience in controls or building automation.
  • Experience with controls plan and specification projects and/or direct negotiated sales.
  • Experience with Tridium, BacNet, Lon, Trane, and/or other major control vendors.
  • Experience with Access Controls, Security & CCTV a plus.
  • Past experience as a controls technician, engineer, or project manager a plus.
Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Driver License.
  • CEM and/or LEED certification a plus.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations; present information and respond to questions from top management, customers and staff.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Reasoning Ability

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in diagrammatic form.

Physical Demands

Manages tasks that involve talking, hearing, walking, using hands, traveling locally, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision and other physical requirements are specified in the job description.

Work Environment

Typical office environment and on-site visits, including exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level is moderate.
