Job summary

Talent Haus is partnering with a respected Dallas company to hire a Controller who will lead the accounting and finance function onsite in the Brookhollow/Stemmons Corridor.

You'll own day-to-day accounting, mentor the team, modernize processes, and become a trusted business partner across the organization, with a path toward CFO for the right person.

Strong relationship-building, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to automation and AI workflows in QuickBooks Online are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing an accounting team.
• Inventory accounting experience, ideally in retail, CPG, or e-commerce.
• Ability to build automation or AI-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations.
• Own month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries and accruals.
• Manage inventory accounting including costing, SKU reconciliations, counts, shrink, and COGS.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and store-level P&L analysis.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, and sales tax.
• Mentor the accounting team and assess staffing needs.
• Build automated AI-enabled workflows in QuickBooks Online.
• Partner with buying, marketing and operations to improve cross-department processes.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures across locations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow with CFO.
• Coordinate with outside CPAs on year-end, tax, and compliance.
