Qualifications

• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience completing bank and account reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close.
• Ability to maintain financial records for multiple entities.
• Experience coordinating with outside CPAs or tax professionals.
• Experience with QuickBooks or comparable software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must work 100% in-office in Birmingham, AL.
• Experience in financial services, investment management, or related environment.
• Experience managing accounting responsibilities for multiple companies.
• Broader general ledger and financial reporting experience.

This person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling transactional accounting, completing reconciliations, supporting month-end close, and coordinating tax-related activities with external accounting partners.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on bookkeeping or staff accounting experience and is comfortable taking ownership of accounting functions in a smaller, fast-paced environment. A traditional corporate Controller background is not required.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles

• Experience preparing financial information and coordinating with outside CPAs or tax professionals
