Job summary

CFS in Baltimore County, MD is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, KPI development, and business analytics. You'll build management reporting, own budgeting and forecasting, and empower leadership with actionable insights.

This role focuses on reporting, analytics, and KPI visibility, transforming data into strategy and driving decision-making at the executive level. Onsite environment with a base salary of $130,000–$145,000 plus bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in accounting and finance with controller-level experience.
• Proven ability to create reporting packages and KPI dashboards.
• Hands-on in developing reports and financial models.
• Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel with data analysis and automation capabilities.
• Ability to translate data into strategic insights.
• Excellent presentation skills for executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities, including GL, close, AP, AR, payroll, and controls.
• Develop robust management reporting packages for executives.
• Create KPI dashboards and performance metrics.
• Produce monthly statements by department and profit center.
• Partner with leadership to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Build financial models and reporting tools in Excel and beyond.
• Identify process improvements and reporting automation.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
