Job summary

Jobot, a well established construction company, seeks a Permanent Controller to lead financial operations and drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in senior finance within construction, with GAAP mastery and the ability to implement strong internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience supervising accounting staff and managing diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.

Job Details

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per hour
