Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. seeks a Controller for Real Estate to lead the finance and accounting function and report to the CFO. You will guide a six-person team, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and drive strategic initiatives across the organization.

You will analyze real estate performance metrics, coordinate with clients, lenders, and the board, and partner with executives on operational improvements to create value.

Qualifications

• CPA certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance and accounting team of about six professionals.
• Oversee financial reporting, month-end close, GAAP compliance, and accounting operations.
• Manage balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and third-party transaction reporting.
• Analyze real estate performance metrics including IRR, cash-on-cash returns, rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and recoveries.
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, and operational improvements.
• Represent the finance team to clients, lenders, board members, and external stakeholders.
