Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a client in Alameda County, CA to place a Controller. The role, a contract accounting leadership position, offers $50.00 to $60.00 per hour and focuses on month-end close, financial reporting, and ledger accuracy.

You will supervise accounting staff, review entries and reconciliations, and collaborate on audits and cash management. A Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and US GAAP expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close processes.
• Experience using NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Ability to supervise accounting personnel and manage multiple priorities.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month end close activities, financial reporting processes, and general ledger accounting.
• Lead and manage accounting staff with guidance, training, and performance support.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions for accuracy.
• Monitor grant and fund accounting activities and reporting.
• Partner with finance leadership on cash management, audit preparation, and special projects.
