CFS in Hartford, CT is seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting functions in a hybrid role with potential for quarterly bonus. The position leads a small team, drives internal controls and audits, and ensures timely financial reporting for a growing non-profit.

The role requires a BS in Accounting (CPA preferred) and experience in non-profit accounting. Hybrid work schedule allows 1-2 days remote weekly, with generous PTO and retirement benefits.

About The Controller Role

• Full oversight of all accounting functions including supervising the team (general ledger, AP,AR, payroll)
• The Controller will be involved in internal controls, compliance and audit including continuous improvement.
• Prepare and review financial statements, leading the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close.
• Cash flow management – monitor cash flow and liquidity. Develop financial dashboards.
• Special projects (such as working with banking partners)
• Assist with annual budget
• Analysis, reporting, tax filings and working with external audit at year end.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications Of The Controller

• BS Accounting, CPA is a plus.
• Experience with non-profit accounting
