Job summary

Lifepoint Health seeks an experienced healthcare finance leader to manage the end-to-end general ledger close for a large health system. You’ll partner with hospital leadership, drive close optimization, and lead accounting process improvements across sites and entities.

You will perform P&L and balance sheet analyses, provide variance explanations, and serve as the primary accounting liaison during close and reporting cycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 7+ years of progressive healthcare finance/accounting experience, including recent hospital-based accounting leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-facility healthcare systems, integrated delivery networks, or large hospital operations.
  • Operate independently in a high-visibility environment with minimal onboarding and oversight.
  • Partner with hospital CEOs, COOs, department directors, and operational leadership teams to drive financial performance and process improvement.
  • Leading accounting process improvements, standardization initiatives, close optimization efforts, and change management within healthcare organizations.
  • Expertise in P&L and balance sheet analysis, revenue valuation, and month-end close processes.
  • Manage reconciliations, journal entries, and post-close reporting.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, project and capital accounting, and other key accounting processes.
  • Experience with Oracle, EPM, and financial reporting tools; RCA and revenue accounting familiarity.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the joint venture accounting, reporting, and distribution process for facilities with joint venture arrangements.
  • Supports annual budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensures internal controls are adequate to safeguard facility assets and maintain the integrity of accounting systems.
  • Leads post-close review processes and periodic balance sheet reviews to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Provides analysis and explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual variances in general ledger accounts.
  • Serves as liaison with external stakeholders to provide required financial reports and information.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance and performs other duties as assigned.

We are seeking an experienced healthcare finance leader with recent hospital Controller, Finance Director, or Assistant CFO experience supporting complex acute care hospital operations. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a highly visible role, leading accounting process improvements, partnering with hospital leadership, and independently managing the financial close and reporting functions for a large, complex health system.

We partner closely with site leadership, technical accounting, and operations teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency in all financial processes. How you’ll contribute

A Finance Site Liaison Manager who excels in this role:

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Additional qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of progressive healthcare finance/accounting experience, including recent hospital-based accounting leadership experience. Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-facility healthcare systems, integrated delivery networks, or large hospital operations preferred.
  • This position requires an experienced healthcare finance leader capable of operating independently in a high-visibility environment with minimal onboarding and oversight.
  • Proven ability to partner directly with hospital CEOs, COOs, department directors, and operational leadership teams to drive financial performance and process improvement.

Salary range: $89,937-$124,563 per year.
