Job summary

PEOPLE is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee the accounting department. The role includes supervising staff, managing bank accounts, and coordinating budgets and payroll for corporate, land, rental properties and grants/contracts.

The position requires familiarity with GAAP, non-profit/cost accounting, strong communication, and at least three years of management experience. California driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze data with successful results.
• Familiarity with Federal GAAP accounting principles.
• Familiarity with non-profit and cost accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with government agencies and the public.
• Minimum of three years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Accounting staff.
• Oversee all Corporate Bank Accounts including transfers, check requests, and signing checks.
• Assist in preparation of budgets for Corporation, Land Projects, Rental Properties and Grants/Contracts.
• Review and approve payroll, fringe, vacation, SUI and FICA worksheets; supervise W-2s and 1099s.
• Coordinate purchasing, inventory and payment systems and prepare Personal Property Tax.
• Enter data for cash flow worksheet to the CFO.
• Monitor and analyze indirect costs and prepare Indirect Cost Proposal.
• Coordinate annual corporate audits with auditors.
