Job summary

firstPRO, Inc. is seeking a Controller for a subsidiary in East Norriton, PA to manage job costing for electrical construction projects.

The role includes AIA billing, bank reconciliations, and preparing a complete monthly reporting package with balance sheet and income statement. You will lead month-end close by the 10th of each month, analyze WIP and job costs, and work with project management to address variances from budget.

Qualifications

• General accounting experience in a construction setting or public accounting experience with construction clients.

Responsibilities

• Set up internal controls for accurate consolidation of results.
• Prepare and analyze Work-In-Progress and job cost reports.
• Hold regular meetings with project management to review status and budget performance; intervene on at-risk projects.
• Assist Project Management with monthly project billing and validation of percent complete.
• Oversee Month End process and prepare monthly financial reporting package.

Job description

A large construction organization is seeking a Controller for one of their subsidiaries in East Norriton, PA. The successful candidate will manage job costing of electrical construction projects including AIA billing, bank reconciliations and various project budgets. Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations inclusive of A/P, A/R, Payroll, and GL. Ensure quality control over transactions and reporting.
• Set up internal controls necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
• Prepare and analyze Work-In-Progress Reports and job cost analysis reports.
• Hold regular meetings with project management to review job status and performance against budget. Ability to identify projects that are not on track to ensure early intervention with corrective measures.
• Assisting Project Management with monthly project billing including validation of percent complete and ensuring actual and anticipated costs are being included in the monthly requisition.
• Oversee Month End process to ensure month end close by the 10th of each month. Preparation of monthly financial reporting package to include balance sheet, income statement, and Work in process report.
• Analyze and report on bank accounts, loans, insurance, payroll auditing, workers comp audits, contracts, job costing, etc.
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
• Provide financial guidance to all functional system issues and concerns.
