Job summary

Vaco by Highspring, a fast-growing firm in New Jersey, seeks an accomplished Controller/CFO to join the leadership team. This hands-on role partners directly with ownership and oversees accounting, finance, HR, and office operations in a tight-knit, entrepreneurial setting.

The position offers strong work-life balance with a hybrid schedule of 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, and requires a CPA designation and a Bachelor's in Accounting. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA designation (active or previous) required.
• Experience in a small, family-owned or entrepreneurial organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations and report regularly to ownership.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and compliance with bank covenants.
• Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and all other accounting and finance functions.
• Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate sales and use tax filings, quarterly reporting, and work with the CPA firm.
• Partner with an HR Generalist to oversee human resources functions.
• Manage front office administrative operations as needed.
• Support leadership with financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
