Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility.
• Experience with project-based or job-costing accounting (A&D, architecture, interior design, construction, or professional services preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with design-industry platforms (Studio Designer, Design Manager, or similar helpful) strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Job description

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls across a project‑based, multi‑client business. This role is critical to managing project profitability, cash flow, and compliance in an environment involving complex client contracts, FF&E procurement, vendor relationships, and multi‑phase design projects. The Controller works closely with firm leadership, project managers, and outside accountants/auditors to support strategic decision‑making and sustainable growth.
