Omnidian, Inc. is seeking a strategic Controller to lead the accounting function and scale the finance architecture for a fast-growing, multi-entity environment.

You will report to the CFO, own the close process across US and international entities, and shape the team responsible for accurate, timely reporting and compliant financial statements. • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership experience.
• Strong US GAAP expertise: consolidations, intercompany, revenue ASC 606.
• Experience building scalable accounting systems and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes for US and international entities.
• Own consolidated financial statements under US GAAP with intercompany and currency considerations.
• Manage external audits and ensure regulatory and investor reporting readiness.
• Develop and execute the accounting systems roadmap, incl. NetSuite optimization and automation.
• Grow and mentor a team of 4-8 while partnering with CFO, FP&A, Legal, and business leaders.

The Job

As Controller, you'll drive the vision for Omnidian's accounting function and build the infrastructure that scales with us through our next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, a founding member of F Suite who is passionate about strong leadership teams and development, you'll join a broader network of senior leadership focused on your growth. You'll own the function end-to-end, interfacing daily with the CFO, FP&A, Engineering, Legal, and business leaders across Sales, Product, and Operations, while leading and developing a team of 4-8, including the Assistant Controller.

What You’ll Do

• Shape technical accounting positions as our business evolves
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across our US and Australian entities
• Own consolidated financial statements under US GAAP, including intercompany eliminations and multi-currency consolidation
• Deliver timely, reliable reporting to the CFO, Board, and investors

Audit, Compliance & Controls (25%)

• Own the external audit relationship, driving clean, on-time completions across jurisdictions
• Build audit-ready infrastructure that positions us well for whatever's next — M&A, a PE recapitalization, a debt raise, or an IPO
• Manage sales, use, and property tax compliance across multiple states and internationally
• Ensure compliance with bank covenants and investor reporting requirements

Systems & AI Enablement (20%)

• Bring genuine curiosity to reducing manual effort and increasing analytical value across the close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows
• Lead the accounting technology roadmap — optimizing NetSuite, evaluating AI-native tools, and building automation into the close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows
• Partner with FP&A, Engineering, and Operations on cross-functional system integration.

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership (25%)

• Own the vision for your team, growing and developing your people, including the Assistant Controller, into a high-performing, accountable group
• Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders, translating accounting realities into clear, actionable guidance
• Partner with the CFO on M&A, debt financing, tax strategy, and investor relations
• Collaborate with external tax advisors on provisions, filings, and strategic tax planning
• Explore exciting opportunities to grow the function internationally as Omnidian expands

Experience You'll Need

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Strong US GAAP expertise: consolidations, intercompany transactions, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and international subsidiary accounting
• A track record of building systems that scale in a high-growth, multi-entity environment
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Active CPA license
• Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills

Experience That's a Plus

• Experience at a Series B-D company that went through a significant transaction — M&A, PE investment, debt raise, IPO, or similar — and understands what transaction-ready books actually require under due diligence conditions
• Background in service-based, field operations, or tech-enabled service businesses (electrical contractors, field service, SaaS, or similar)
• Experience in clean energy, renewables, or sustainability-focused businesses
• Hands‑on experience with AI tools and automation in accounting workflows — not theoretical, but actually implemented
• Audit experience in a Big 4 or national firm environment
• International accounting experience (Australia or other English-speaking jurisdictions a plus).
