Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Proven experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing accounting systems and financial software.
• Background in budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in the Tri-State area.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations including AR/AP, payroll, and general ledger
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Oversee financial reporting and maintain compliance with accounting standards
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in partnership with leadership
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls
• Manage and mentor the bookkeeper or junior accounting staff
• Monitor bank accounts, credit activity, and financial transactions for accuracy
• Build and improve financial processes, workflows, and systems to support growth
• Partner with department leaders to track budgets and improve financial performance
• Support leadership with financial insights to guide decision‑making
• Ensure compliance with labor regulations, state registrations, and financial policies
• Coordinate with external accountants on tax filings and audits
