Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Site Controller to oversee accounting, reporting, finance, tax, and audit activities at our Topton site. You will supervise financial staff and enforce group policies while ensuring ethical standards are upheld.

Responsibilities include managing site accounting functions, budgeting, cost accounting, CAPEX oversight, and cash management. A strong manufacturing finance background and GAAP knowledge are essential; MBA/CPA are advantages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management; MBA preferred.
• Five years minimum experience in Accounting Management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and worksheet functionality.
• Financial background in manufacturing environment preferred; GAAP knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize the accounting and financial functions within the site.
• Act as a project lead, as required.
• Draft budgets, plans, forecasts, and analyze variances to improve performance.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing; update costs to minimize variances.
• Oversee CAPEX plans and manage fixed assets; assess ROI and ROA.
• Ensure adherence to legal and Group standards; file tax and POAs for the legal entity.
• Monitor working capital and oversee monthly P&L reporting.
• Supervise all accounting, cash management, and management control activities.

As the Site Controller, you are responsible for accounting, reporting, finance, tax, and audit activities, in addition to enforcing Group and site policies accordingly. Supervise financial staff and ensure tasks and objectives are met while employing sound and ethical standards.

• Manage and prioritize the accounting and financial functions within the site.
• Act as a project lead, as required.
• Manage and coordinate the drafting of budgets, plans, forecasts, and examine all ways of improving performance by investigating variances or discrepancies.
• Hands-on cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial stewardship. Manage standard costing system, review, and update costs to ensure appropriate valuation and minimize variances that are non-operational.
• Oversee and review CAPEX plans and manage fixed assets. Uses financial methods to understand ROI and capital employed ROA.
• Ensure adherence to both legal and Group standards.
• Responsible for legal entity filings, including tax, POAs, etc.
• Measure, report, and enact plans to improve working capital.
• Advise site management on all matters related to the financial health of the business, including oversight of the monthly P&L report.
• Supervise all accounting, cash management and management control activities.
