Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC. is seeking an Accounting Manager / Controller in Teterboro, NJ to lead the accounting function on-site.

The role covers GL, payroll, AR/AP, and financial reporting, with direct exposure to ownership and opportunities to influence controls and processes. The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting leadership experience, strong QuickBooks proficiency, and a track record of improving cash management and close processes in a distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar hands-on role.
• Strong QuickBooks experience.
• Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Payroll, month-end close, and maintaining books through trial balance.
• Experience working with an outside CPA and preparing financial reporting support.
• Distribution, inventory accounting, VAM, and/or ADP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Maintain accounting records through trial balance and support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Monitor cash flow, bank activity, positive pay processes, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reporting and coordinate with the outside CPA on accounting and tax-related matters.
• Oversee customer payment processing, collections, credit management, and vendor payment activities.
• Support inventory, billing, receiving, and distribution accounting processes while resolving discrepancies.
