Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a skilled Controller to lead financial operations in Morristown, TN. The role focuses on manufacturing-focused accounting, financial close, reporting, and cost control, with oversight of a two-person team.

The ideal candidate has strong budgeting, forecasting, and ERP experience (Oracle preferred), plus deep knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls. This contract-to-hire position offers growth opportunities and onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations through financial analysis and reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with a fully integrated ERP system; Oracle experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and analyze P&L, KPIs, and financial reports.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs and inventory accounting processes.
• Manage capital expenditures, capital project accounting, and fixed asset tracking.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Collaborate with corporate finance, shared services, and cross-functional teams on business initiatives and special projects.

Job Title: Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our financial operations. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.31/hr.
