Job summary

Kyntronics is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our finance organization and partner with the President to shape financial strategy and growth. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • MBA or CMA a plus.
  • 7–10 years in progressive accounting and finance roles.
  • 3+ years in Assistant Controller or Senior Accounting role.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial companies.
  • Govt. contracts/defense exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, cost and inventory).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements per U.S. GAAP.
  • Monitor performance vs. plan; provide variance analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Manage payroll processing and related GL entries.
  • Interface with Board and lead annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and working capital analyses.
  • Oversee banking, AP/AR, and insurance arrangements.
  • Support ROI analysis on new product development.

Job description

Company Description Kyntronics is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our finance organization to support our next phase of growth in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defense. This role offers the opportunity to partner directly with the President and leadership team to shape financial strategy, improve operational performance, and prepare the company for long-term growth.

Position Overview The Controller is responsible for leading the Company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance functions to support Kyntronics' continued growth in industrial and defense markets. Reporting directly to the President, the Controller will provide accurate and timely financial information, strengthen financial processes and be a close business partner with the senior leadership team.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, cost and inventory accounting, and cash management.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and KPIs in accordance with U.S. GAAP to support executive decision-making.
  • Monitors financial performance against plan, including providing variance analysis to the management team and participates with implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain and ensure compliance and financial accountability with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage the payroll process; prepare bi-weekly payroll and records payroll, tax and insurance GL entries.
  • Interface with the Kyntronics Board of Directors including reporting and regular meetings.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and working capital analyses.
  • Oversee banking activity, AP and AR processing and bank statements.
  • Manage insurances for proper coverage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support ROI analysis on new product development and other projects.

Manufacturing Finance

  • Maintain accurate project/product costing and inventory valuation systems, support quoting activity as required.
  • Actively works with Purchasing and Operations to reduce SLOB inventory and invest in higher-turnover inventory to support growth and customer service.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, overhead absorption, and product margins to improve profitability
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • MBA or CMA a plus.
Experience
  • 7 - 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an Assistant Controller or Senior Accounting role.
  • Experience within manufacturing or industrial companies required.
  • Exposure supporting government contracts and defense-related business is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Manufacturing cost accounting expertise.
  • Budgeting, financial planning and reporting experience.
  • ERP system experience (e.g., E2, Epicor, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, AI tools, Office 365.

Location

On-site at Kyntronics Solon headquarters, with occasional travel as required.
