Job description

603 Manufacturing, a Trexon business unit, is a manufacturer of cable and wire harness assemblies serving leading customers in the space, defense, medical and other specialty end markets. Operating from a facility in Hudson, NH, the business generates $20M-$30M in annual revenue with approximately 120 employees and is positioned to support its next phase of growth. Trexon is part of Amphenol Corporation (NYSE: APH), a global leader in interconnect and sensor solutions.

Reporting to Trexon's Controller, Head of Finance, with a dotted line to 603’s General Manager, the Site Controller is the senior finance leader at the Site and a key figure on the site leadership team. The role carries full ownership of the Site's accounting records, internal control environment and financial reporting, and is accountable for delivering accurate results within Amphenol's corporate reporting calendar.

Beyond the accounting function, the Site Controller owns operational finance for the Site and is expected to drive performance. Working alongside the General Manager and functional leaders, the Site Controller translates operational activity into financial insight across product and program profitability, cost, inventory and working capital, and partners with the leadership team to convert that insight into action. The role influences pricing and quoting decisions, cost reduction initiatives, capital investment and productivity programs, and holds the business accountable to its financial commitments.

As part of a public company environment, the Site Controller upholds corporate accounting policies, maintains a disciplined control environment and supports the Site through internal audit and periodic control self-assessment. The role is deliberately hands-on: the Site Controller personally owns the general ledger and technical accounting for the Site, supported by a small finance team, and is responsible for developing that team and scaling the function overall as the business grows.

Effective communication is integral to the role. The Site Controller must articulate financial results, risks and recommendations clearly to site and Trexon management, corporate finance and other stakeholders, while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting, analysis and manufacturing cost capability with the presence and judgment to operate as a leader on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Site's month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting, delivered accurately and within corporate deadlines.
  • Own general ledger integrity and technical accounting at the Site, including revenue recognition under ASC 606, inventory valuation, accruals, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliation quality.
  • Prepare and submit Site financial results, flash estimates and rolling forecasts through Amphenol's consolidation and reporting platform (SAP BPC), and reconcile reported results. Own inventory accounting and the associated control routines, including excess and obsolete reserve methodology, the cycle count program, work order aging and review of production activity for accuracy.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment at the Site. Perform periodic self-assessment and certification of business unit controls and procedures in accordance with Amphenol’s, and serve as the Site lead for internal audit, including preparation, walkthroughs and timely closure of findings.
  • Review Site accounting policies and procedures for compliance with GAAP and consistency with corporate policy across cash, inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other areas; partner with Trexon Corporate Finance team to carry out new procedures where required.
  • Lead the Site's annual budget, rolling forecast and multi-year strategic planning processes in partnership with the General Manager and Sales lead.
  • As a key member of the site leadership team, partner with the General Manager and department leaders on operational and commercial decisions, including pricing and quoting, program and customer profitability, make-versus-buy analysis, capital requests, headcount and cost initiatives.
  • Own operational finance analytics for the Site and use them to drive performance. This includes product, program and customer margin, labor and overhead absorption, material cost and purchase price variance, scrap and rework, and productivity measures, with a focus on improving gross margin, operating profit and working capital.
  • Own Site working capital performance, including accounts receivable collections, inventory levels and turns, and cash forecasting, working with the centralized corporate Accounts Payable team.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations at the Site, including bank reconciliations, cash applications, accounts receivable and coordination with centralized corporate functions.
  • Leverage the Site's ERP system (Epicor) and reporting tools to improve the accuracy, timeliness and usefulness of financial and operational information, and identify opportunities to strengthen and automate financial processes.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local sales and use tax reporting requirements, and support tax, treasury, insurance and external audit requests.
  • Supervise, develop and mentor finance staff, and scale the finance function in step with the growth of the business.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Key Competencies
  • Hands-on operator, comfortable owning both detailed accounting work and site-level financial leadership.
  • Strong manufacturing and cost accounting judgment, with the ability to connect shop-floor activity to financial results.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose practical business solutions to problems.
  • High intellectual curiosity and a strategic mindset, balanced with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multi-faceted team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information appropriately.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines in a compressed corporate reporting calendar.
  • Forward-thinking in implementing tools that improve analytics and support better business decisions.
  • Good organizational skills and the capacity to handle a high work volume.
  • Self-motivated and positive team player.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or MBA preferred.

Experience: Minimum eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in a dedicated accounting/finance function, including prior experience as a Controller or senior finance leader at a manufacturing site. Manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred. Public company experience and aerospace, defense or space end market experience are a plus.

Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, inventory and cost accounting, and manufacturing financial analysis. Experience with ERP systems required; Epicor experience preferred. Experience with consolidation and corporate reporting platforms preferred; SAP BPC experience a plus.
