Job summary

Confidential Employer in Oklahoma is seeking an experienced accounting leader to own critical financial operations for government contracts. You will guide reporting, budgeting, cash management, cost accounting, and payroll while partnering with senior leadership.

The role requires 4+ years of relevant government-contracting accounting experience and a bachelor's in Accounting. Manufacturing exposure and Costpoint expertise are highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of U.S. government-contracting accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, cost accounting, cash management, AP/AR.
  • Total accounting experience 10+ years preferred for senior role.
  • Manufacturing accounting and government documentation experience valuable.
  • Deltek Costpoint ERP experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership experience and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations: AP, AR, cost accounting, cash management, payroll.
  • Own monthly and annual financial statement prep, review and analysis.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets with operational leaders.
  • Maintain practices for U.S. government contracts and contract accounting.
  • Oversee journal entries, controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate annual audits with internal and external auditors.
  • Lead inventory accounting, cycle counts, and asset accuracy.
  • Present financial information to executive leadership.
  • Identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Mentor accounting team and build strong cross-department partnerships.
  • Develop knowledge of Deltek Costpoint across accounting activities.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Note: Candidates must have 4+ years of accounting experience supporting U.S. government contracts and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent. Manufacturing accounting, accounting leadership experience, and Deltek Costpoint experience are strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, cash management, and payroll.
  • Own monthly and annual financial statement preparation, review, and analysis.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze departmental budgets while partnering with operational leaders.
  • Maintain accounting practices appropriate for U.S. government contracts and ensure accurate contract-related accounting.
  • Oversee journal entries, account accuracy, supporting documentation, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate annual financial audits and work directly with internal and external auditors.
  • Lead inventory accounting, cycle counts, annual physical inventory activities, and asset accuracy.
  • Present financial and accounting information to executive leadership.
  • Identify accounting issues, determine root causes, and implement practical solutions.
  • Build strong partnerships with department managers to improve processes, policies, and communication.
  • Develop, train, and mentor accounting team members.
  • Build a strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and its impact across accounting activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of U.S. government-contracting accounting experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, cost accounting, cash management, AP, AR, and general accounting operations.
  • 10+ years of total accounting experience strongly preferred for this senior-level scope.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Accounting management or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Deltek Costpoint ERP experience strongly preferred.
  • Payroll, inventory accounting, audit coordination, and government documentation experience are valuable.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
